Immigrant Policy Inclusion Index

How inclusive each state’s policies are toward immigrants, across seven domains: health coverage, language access, higher education, identification, integration & licensure, legal protection, and economic inclusion. Darker green = more inclusive; orange/red = more restrictive or limited. Click any state for its full profile.

Immigrant–Native Disparity Index

Standardized gaps between foreign-born and US-born residents (uninsured, crowded housing, rent burden, education, home internet, vehicle access, homeownership) from US Census ACS. Green = smaller gaps; red = larger gaps. This is an outcome measure, separate from the Policy map: it describes how immigrant and US-born residents differ, and is shaped by who has immigrated where (recency and composition), not by state policy alone. Lac Long Quan Lion Dance

9128 HURST CT, FAIRFAX, VA 22032-1422

Lac Long Quan Lion Dance is a nonprofit organization in Long Branch, Virginia that serves immigrants and refugees.

A Vietnamese lion dance troupe in Northern Virginia that performs at cultural shows, parades, and events to spread appreciation for Vietnamese culture.

Mission

Our organization's goal is to spread Vietnamese culture through lion dance, a traditional Vietnamese dance centered around the lunar new year. Whenever lion dance is performed for a shop, it's seen as good fortune for that shop for the year. The lions that we perform with are blessed by a buddhist temple before we're allowed to perform in the new year. Our hope is that through shows we can spread an appreciation for the Vietnamese culture since we usually perform at cultural shows, store openings, parades, and more. Almost every year we have seen more requests for us to perform at cultural shows, store openings, weddings, parades, etc.
